In Mai 2009 Fazenda da Esperança started a new community for drug and alcohol rehabilitation in Carolina, Naga City, on a land, donated from Archbishop Legazpi. He had visited Fazenda rehabilitation in Masbate some two years earlier together with the other bishops from the Bicol Region, and was very impressed by the sharing of the boys, about how the life at Fazenda helps them to overcome their addiction.
Following his invitation, we invited all our graduates, those who finished the one-year-rehabilitation program at Fazenda Masbate, to join us being a missionary to open the new community in Naga. 14 of them accepted the invitation, and for one month we lived together, preparing a small house and the area, and announcing about the life of Fazenda in different opportunities.
Now this sister community is already established and started welcoming boys for rehabilitation.
